A late night wine-soaked jam session in an out-of-the-way crew hallway behind the theater. Mostly musicians from the various ship bands but also a few others: a French acrobat on accordion, RC on guitar, Sarah and Lynn on the ukuleles the last cast left in our cabins. I don’t play anything so I watched, occasionally shaking my bag of potato chips like maracas when the mood hit.
RC: I think I’m going to call it a night. It was more fun last week.
Me: Too many people now?
RC: No, not exactly. We just played more contemporary stuff last week.
Me: I am a little surprised that after playing these songs for the passengers all day, they’d still want to play “I Shot the Sheriff” now.
RC: That’s nothing. Earlier… we played “Greensleeves.”
